Repeat Prescriptions and Ongoing Referrals
An appointment is usually necessary to review a medical condition prior to the issuing of repeat prescriptions or ongoing referrals. This is not only to satisfy medico-legal obligations but also to ensure optimal patient management and treatment. This applies particularly if it has been more than 3 months since a patient has been to the practice.
Occasionally, the doctor decides an appointment is not necessary, and a non-rebatable fee of $16.50 is charged to cover the doctor's administrative time. In the case of an Emergency Script or On The Day Referral a fee of $22.00 will apply.
A period of 24 hours notice is required for prescriptions and referrals to be available for collection from Reception.
