Practice Background
Bluewater Medical is located 35 kilometers north of Townsville City on the Bruce Highway heading north towards Cairns. The medical centre is situated in a semi-rural area set amongst the Australian bush with plenty of open spaces and fresh air.
Bluewater Medical Practice, affectionately known as BMP, has been operating since June 1994. In 1996 a purpose build 390 square meter practice was constructed to accommodate the growing number of patients. In October 2000, a further building extension was undertaken.
Bluewater Medical Practice is AGPAL Accredited, fully computerised, using Best Practice Software, incorporating a large 5 bed treatment room, a spacious theatre, 11 consulting rooms, a Pharmacy and a Pathology service on site. The practice mainly services those beachside suburbs of Thuringowa and Herbert Area including suburbs of Toolakea, Yabulu, Balgal Beach, and Rollingstone. It also attracts patients over a very large area with some travelling over many 100’s of kilometers to attend.
The BMP Doctors provide a wide range of services such as treatment for Back, Neck Pain using Rebox, brain stimulation therapy and minor surgical procedures. We have Physiotherapy and Podiatry who consult on a regular basis.
The surgery is very modern and employs a caring and friendly staff. It is a RRMA 5 or MM2 category and is within the local NQ Primary Health Care Network.
